In partnership with eMuseum and the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, the IMERSUM team has created a unique 3D project – «Shevchenko’s Dream House». This is not a reconstruction of a historical building, but rather a realization of the dream that Shevchenko carried with him throughout his life. A house was built based on the descriptions he provided in his diaries, letters and drawings.

Design Basis

Shevchenko never had a home of his own, but in his letters, sketches and recollections, he repeatedly described what he would have liked it to be. These very sources formed the foundation for modeling the space. The following were used in the development of the model:

  • Excerpts from Shevchenko’s letters, where he mentions everyday life, nature, space, and silence;
  • His graphic legacy (interior studies, domestic scenes, architectural drawings);
  • Memories of friends and biographical data from the museum archives.

The goal was not to reconstruct a typical 19th-century house, but to create an interpretation of what Shevchenko envisioned as his ideal personal space.

Implementation

The project focused on realistic textures and materials, lighting that changes throughout the day and compositional logic. The model has been optimized for further use in digital projects: museum programs, AR/VR exhibitions, web platforms and educational applications.
